The course should provide a basic knowledge in 3D CAD tools, technologies and methodologies that supports each segment of design process. Students will learn 2D drafting and 3D modeling techniques. Geometric representations and solid modeling foundations will be supported by project work. Class exercises and homework include parametric and feature based design tasks. Rapid prototyping tools will be used for prototype realization in connection with Product Development course. After completion of the course, students should be able to select most suitable CAD tool, technology or methodology available for the problems under consideration and to be able to cope with new tools or technologies that will arise in the future.
