Description:
Introduction to the most important petroleum refining and petrochemical processes, especially the technical-economical aspects. Getting insight into the technical-scientific basis for these processes and in the structure of the petroleum refining industry and the petrochemical industry. For each of the processes, insight is considered to be more important than the simple description of the process. The visits to industrial installations (1) are organized to see the different units and transpose the general refining and petrochemical process diagrams to the field and (2) allow the students to meet process engineers and see the different constraints linked to the operation of each specific unit.
